The American pop singer/songwriter from Santa Barbara, Katy Perry, is hard at work building her fame and fortune as 2012 presses on.  Despite her heart-breaking divorce with British Comedian Russell Brand, Perry’s carry has yet to be halted.  The amazing work ethic pushed her on, even though before some shows she’d have to bend down to let tears leave her eyes in order to prevent any make-up malfunctions.

With the five hit singles “California Gurls”, “Teenage Dream”, “Firework”, “E.T.” and “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)”  Katy Perry’s 2010 album Teenage Dream became the only album aside from Michael Jackson’s Bad to have five number one singles in one album! She has made over $44 million last year with her last album, movie projects, and her sold-out tour.

Her success is sure to grow after her new movie titled “Katy Perry: Part of Me” is debuted on July 5th. The movie is essentially a documentary that illustrates Perry’s life on and off of the stage. Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz directed the movie and Katy Perry, Shannon Woodward and Lucas Kerr play the starring roles.  It’s safe to say this movie will be inspirational and enlightening.

A movie isn’t the only thing on Katy Perry’s agenda! She also intends to launch her own record label. “I’m preparing for it now,” she told THR. “And when this record label does come to fruition, I’m going to try and avoid the things that take away any fighting chance for an artist to have financial success. As people are coming to me with opportunities, I’m thinking, ‘How would I want to be treated?’
