Lady Antebellum, taking country music by storm

Let’s take a moment and reflect on the history of such a great musical group, known as Lady Antebellum. The country pop trio was formed in Nashville, Tennessee in 2006 by the three original members who still remain in the group. Lady Antebellum members consist of Hillary Scott (lead and backing vocals), Charles Kelley (lead and backing vocals), and Dave Haywood (backing vocals, guitar, piano, and mandolin).

With such talent, it didn’t take long for the country music sensation to leap from a group of average Joes to a successful country music act. Hillary Scott is the daughter of the country music singer Linda Davis, and Charles Kelley’s brother is the pop/country artist Josh Kelley. These connections helped the trio make its way to fame.

In 2007, a year after the group formed, they made their first depute with Jim Brickman, who chose them to sing on his single, “Never Alone” which charted at No. 14 on the Billboard adult contemporary charts. From there they released their single titled “Love Don’t Live Here” along with a music video to follow. This song was the single that led off to the band’s first album, which was self-titled. The Lady Antebellum album was the first of three.

Lady Antebellum albums also include Need You Now which was released in 2010, and Own the Night being released last year. Lady Antebellum I Need You Now debuted at No. 50 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and became their second No.1 hit on the charts for a week straight in November 2009.

Lady Antebellum lyrics are memorable as well as catchy! Hit songs of their include: “I Run to You”, “Lookin’ for a Good Time”, “American Honey” and “Hello World”. They’ve also won numerous awards including Top New Duo or Group, Single of the Year, Choice Music: Album Country, Vocal Group of the Year, and many more! The list of award nominations goes on and on for these guys.

Currently, Lady Antebellum is on their Own The Night World Tour 2012 along with Darius Ruck and Thompson Square. The trio will be performing hits from their latest album and I’m sure other hit Lady Antebellum songs.
