Who is Taylor Swift? That isn’t a common question is it? An American country pop singer, songwriter, musician, and actress, Swift has done a little bit (or a lot) of nearly everything!  She has released three albums titled, Taylor Swift (2006), Fearless (2008), and most recently, Speak Now (2010). She has been in four movies, two inwhich she was a cameo (a brief part inwhich a popular performer makes an appearance). The two that she did a cameo in were Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience, and Hannah Montana: The Movie. The other two, inwhich she played major roles in, were Valentine’s Day and Taylor Swift: Journey to Fearless. She has also been on multiple television series, such as CMT Crossroads, Saturday Night Live, and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. In addition she did the voice for Audrey in a recenlty released movie, The Lorax.

Swift’s raise to fame was no cake walk! At age eleven she made her first trip to Nashville hoping to get a record deal by distributing demo tapes to several record lables. Unfortunitly she was rejected by them all. When she was 15 years old, she was rejected by RCA Records only because they wanted to keep her on an artist development deal. She eventually caught the attention of Scott Borchetta, after playing at Nashville’s songwriters’ venue, The Bluebird Café. He signed her to his newly formed record label, Big Machine Records, and at age 14, she became the youngest staff songwriter ever hired b the Sony/Atv Treee publishing house.

Taylor Swift is currently on her Speak Now World Tour. The tour is support by her album Speak Now, which was released in 2010. It has visited several countries, including Asia, Europe, and Australasia. It has also been throughout North America.  The tour has ranked tenth in Pollstar’s “Top 50 Wolrdwide Tour (Mid-Year)”, and has earned over 40 million dollars! I wish I could earn that much in 10 years, let alone 1! Anyway, by the end of 2011, the tour placed fifth on Billboard’s annual, “Top 25 Tours”. By now it had earned nearly $100 million dollars with 89 shows. Not to bad right?

Swift made this statement before the tour expressing her excitement…

“I’m so excited to go back out on tour again in 2011!” Swift said. “The ‘Fearless Tour’ was so much fun and even more unforgettable than I ever imagined, and I can’t wait to               get back out and play my new music from Speak Now! The fans have been so amazing and I’m thrilled to play in new cities around the world and meet even more of my      fans in 2011!” (

Can you blame her? I’d be pretty excited too!

The tour began in February 9, 2011 and is set to end on August 11, 2012, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. She has done/will be doing seven shows in Asia, twelve in Europe, eighty one in North America, and twelve in Australasia, that’s a total of 112.  So far, there have been about 1.5 million tickets sold for the tour!
