Back On Tour With A New Album

As of January 10, 2012, tickets for Van Halen’s upcomming tour are available! The band will be consisting of the members, Eddie Van Halen, Alex Van Halen, David Lee Roth, and Eddie’s son, Wolfgang Van Halen on bass. In addition to the new tour, they will be releasing their first album in 14 years, A Different Kind of Truth, on February 7. How exciting…

According to their website, the 2012 Tour will begin on February 18, 2012, and will play in over 40 cities, ranging from New York to California. More tour dates have yet to be announced, but are likely to be added for the future. One can assume many die-hard Van Halen will be flocking to getting tickets asap. I diffinitly don’t blame them, this tour could very well be a valued part of rock n’ roll history!

A Different Kind of Truth is Van Halen’s 12th studio album. It will be the band’s first album of new material since 1998. Further more, it will be the first album to feature David Lee Roth on vocals since 1984! Another first for this album is Wolfgang Van Halen, who will be feature for the first time playing bass. Producer and engineer Ross Hogarth has claimed that on July 31, 2011 that the entire recording process and mixing has finished.

Their First single “Tattoo” will be released on January 10 on various radio stations. Interestingly the song “She’s the Woman” was originally from their Zero demo released in 1976 making it a classic. There will also be a deluxe version of the album that will contain a bonus Acoustic DVD called The Downtown Sessions. The DVD will have acoustic versions of popular Van Halen Songs such as “Beautiful Girls”, “Panama”, and “You Really Got Me” making it worth the extra cost.
