Creed 2012 Tour

According to their official website, Creed is due to begin their 2012 tour on April 13th in Chicago, Illinois at the Chicago Theatre. In addition, it is said that they could possibly have a fifth studio album on the way this summer. Their past four studio albums include My Own Prison from 1997, Human Clay from 1999, Weathered from 2001, and Full Circle from 2009. It was rumored that the band would release a acoustic album and a new single in 2011, however, the rumor was proven untrue, with neither done by the end of 2011. At least one things for certain, we can all look forward to a great tour this year, so I’m not complaining.

In 2011, Creed was listed as best rock bands of all time in the Hard Rock Band Bracket. They have won numerous awards with the RIAA, with three albums going 6x to 11x platinum from 2002 to 2004. In addition, they won a Grammy Award for their song “With Arms Wide Open” in 2001, and were nominated for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal for their “My Sacrifice” and “With Arms Wide Open”.

Ron White 2012 Tour

Straight out of Fritch, Texas, Ron White is a comedy gold mine! You may have seen him on The Blue Collar Comedy Tour along side of Larry the Cable Guy, Jeff Foxworthy, and Bill Engvall, or on his stand up special on comedy central with his gut-busting jokes about being under the influence and his family life. During his live performance he’s always, or at least usually, got a glass of Scotch in one hand, and is smoking a big fat cigar with the other.

Along with his comedic success, Ron White has successfully authered the book I Had the Right to Remain Silent But I Didn’t Have the Ability which was on the New York Times best seller list. Aside from his Blue Collar Comedy Tour CDs and movies, White has released five solo projects so far, these being Tater Salad aka. Busted in Des Moines, Drunk in Public, They Call Me “Tater Salad”, You Can’t Fix Stupid, and Ron White: Behavioral Problems. In addition to that, he has appear on multiple compilations including Redneck Comedy Roundup and Ron White, Jeff Foxworthy & Bill Engvall: Live from Las Vegas.

NOFX 2012 On Tour

The punk rock band from Los Angeles, California, NOFX (pronounced “no effects”) seems to be a very interesting, fun loving, and definitely successful. With classic influences like The Misfits, Sex Pistols, Bad Religion, and SNFU, their music is nothing but acceptation, reaching out to many major punk rock fans. I just watched their music video titled “Seeing Double at The Triple Rock”, and I found it to be punk rock gold!   Many of their songs have comedic lyrics, poking fun at other bands such as The Offspring, with songs like “Whoa on the Whoas” which emphasizes the amount of times they use the word “whoa”. Other songs are brief like “I Gotta Pee” which is only 32 seconds long, while they have songs like “The Decline” which last over 18 minutes! Some of their recent songs are more serious, focusing on issues like politics, racism, sexism, drug use, and religion. Continue reading

Skrillex A New Era of Music

It has become apparent to me, these past few months, that there is a new style of music making its way to the top and it seems to being quite promising. I’m talking about Dub-Step, a kind of music that blends techno, hip-hip, electronica and house music into it’s own revolutionary style. Though I’ve never really been into it myself until recently, I can say I’ve witnessed it in commercials and even movies without even realizing it!

Skrillex is a DJ also known as Sonny Moore, who was previously the vocalist of popular post-hardcore band From First to Last. In his music, he remixes popular songs by artists like Lady Gaga as well as his own work. Popular songs by him include First of the Year, Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites, and Rock N Roll. Skrillex doesn’t operate under the usual style of your ordinary, everyday musician. His songs have intense beats, thick synth, very high to very low synthesized vocals and lots of sampled in noises that could be from nearly anything! The more accurate description of his current occupation would be production. Continue reading

You may have seen him in various movies such as Soul Plane, Scary Movie 4, Little Fockers, and/or Death at a Funeral, or on Comedy Central, delivering hilarious jokes on his stand-up comedy special. Regardless of what you’ve seen him in, there is no doubt that Kevin Hart is one funny guy, not to mention successful! He has sold out tons of venues with his current tour and previous tours.

I personally find his comedic performance sensational and attention grabbing, making jokes about his small stature and abusive female issues. His comedy special I’m a Grown Little Man was featured on Comedy Central in 2009 and was one of the highest rated specials on the network. I believe he is currently traveling on his Laugh at My Pain tour, and tickets are selling fast! On the Keven Hart website, many of the seats seem to be selling out! Continue reading
