Zac Brown Band Concert Tour

Though their breakthrough success seems to have come from out-of-nowhere, the Zac Brown Band is a solid and enduring group. In 2002, the band was formed and they began touring with a busy schedule of about 200 shows a year. In 2004, after opening a southern-style music club and restuarant with his father in Georgia called “Zac’s Place”, Browns restaurant was bought by a developer, supplying Brown with a large sum of money. With this money, the band purchased a tour bus and began touring full-time. Within the next two years they released their first two independent albums Far From Einstyne and Home Grown.

It was not until October 2008, that the band reached commercial success. Their album The Foundation was released under Atlantic Records, and their single “Chicken Fried” reached #1 on the Billboard 200 chart. This album featrues guest appearances by Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffett. The album was one of Billboard’s Top 20 albums of 2009, and was the first major label debut album in 18 years to get five No. 1 hits. The album is now certified double platinum by the RIAA.

The original members of the Zac Brown Band were Zac Brown, on lead vocals and guitar backed by a drummer and a bassist. In 2009, Clay Cook joined to play guitar, organ, mandolin, pedal, steel and vocals, completing the band’s current line up. The line up is now Brown, Cook, Jimmy De Martini at violin and vocals, John Driskell Hopkins at bass and vocals, Coy Bowles at guitar and organ, and Chris Fryar at drums.

With their lineup completed, the band released its second, third, and fourth singles, “Whatever It Is”, “Toes”, and “Highway 20 Ride”.  Their fifth single, “Free”, peaked at Number One on August 21, 2010. They have been nominated for 30 awards and won an additional 7.
