Big Time Rush Nation Tour 2012

Big Time Rush

Recently, the boyband Big Time Rush, announced that they would be performing a national tour, starting on February 2012. Opening for them will be the British pop band One Direction, a new band originally discovered on the television series The X Factor. I expected that this tour should have all the ladies screaming with excitement.

Big Time Rush began as a Nickelodeon television series in 2009, titled as the same name they go by now. Simultaneously, they signed a record deal with Nick and began recording songs like “Famous” and “This Is Our Someday”. The members consist of Kendall Schnidt, James Maslow, Carlos Pena Jr. and Logan Henderson.

Their debut album, BTR was released on October 2010, and peaked at number 3 on Billboard 200. It was certified Gold by the RIAA for sales of over 500,000 copies. Other hits they have created are “Big Time Rush”, “Halfway There”, “If I Ruled The World”, and their cover of All I Want For Christmas Is You, by Mariah Carey, with fellow Nickelodeon star Miranda Cosgrove.

Big Time Rush puts on an exciting show for all ages. They are beloved my millions, and could be playing at a venue near you! Here are a list of upcomming shows… Continue reading

The Fresh Beat Band is a live-action musical sitcom that appeals to younger children. They use original pop songs with preschool-friendly lyrics. The television series is based off of four fun loving best friends in a band who all go to music school together. They sing, dance, and solve common problems.

The four members are Marina, Kiki, Twist, and Shout. Each song-and-dance performance is derived from any situation. For example, they sing about their day and how they had a great time together. Here is an example of lyrics from their song “Great Day” Continue reading

Zac Brown Band Concert Tour

Though their breakthrough success seems to have come from out-of-nowhere, the Zac Brown Band is a solid and enduring group. In 2002, the band was formed and they began touring with a busy schedule of about 200 shows a year. In 2004, after opening a southern-style music club and restuarant with his father in Georgia called “Zac’s Place”, Browns restaurant was bought by a developer, supplying Brown with a large sum of money. With this money, the band purchased a tour bus and began touring full-time. Within the next two years they released their first two independent albums Far From Einstyne and Home Grown. As a rather big fan, I couldn’t agree more that the Red Hot Chili Peppers diserve this spot. Their music is so original, mixing elements of funk, rock n’ roll, blues, and even rap (not so much in their latest music). They’ve been around since 1983, despite their breif hiatus in 2008, ending in 2009. Their current line up is Anthony Kiedis on vocals, Flea on bass, Chad Smith playing drums, and Josh Klinghoffer on guitar. Continue reading

Jeresey Boys Theatre Tickets

One of Broadways most popular performances has be sweeping the nations and bringing oldies fans and not-so-oldies fans to an awe. I’m talking about the Jersey Boys, a “jukebox musical” born in 2005 and still rolling strong to this day. They performed classic hits by Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, like “Sherry”, “Big Girls Don’t Cry”, and “Walk Like A Man”. They won a Tony Award in 2006 for Best Musical, and have won several additional awards since!

The music itself is by Bob Gaudio, with lyrics by Bob Crewe and book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice. They have four seperate cast groups for Melbourne, Broadway, Chicago, and London ranging from 13 to 15 people. The original starring cast that first performed the opening show on broadway in 2005 consisted of John Lloyd Young as Frankie Valli, Christian Hoff as Tommy DeVito, Daniel Reichard as Bob Gaudio, and J. It would seem that one of the most popular events in the U.S. this closing year could be the Scream Tour 2011. Thousands of pop and hip hop fans are rushing to see some of their favorite young super stars in action. Included in this tour are Mindless Behavior, Diggy, Jocob Latimore, Hamilton Park, New Boyz and OMG Girlz.

The Scream Tour is nothing new to those who follow artists like Lil Bow Wow, who gained a large amount of fame when he first performed on the tour over a decade ago. The original debut tour was in 2005 with Omarion, Marques Houston, B5, Pretty Ricky, Bow Wow and Bobby Valentino. Many criticized the original tour to be oversexualized, as members performed erotic positions and occationally appeared in their underwear. Not to worry, the current tour is said to be PG 13, and rather kid friendly! Continue reading

Tiger Woods ends 26-tournatment winless streak

Its been over 2 years and 26 tourneys for Tiger without a single win, and after so much trouble in his personal and professional life,  Tiger Woods hit a 6-foot birdie this sunday and took the Chevron World Challenge. Woods won with a 3-under 69 and beat masters champion Zach Johson by a single shot.  Woods ends his 749 day winless streak, woods is Back!  This win moved his rank from #52 to #21 in the world rankings, and will set expectations high for the 2012 season. Tigers next tournament will begin at the end of january in Abu Dhabi.

If this win felt differently than the last one, Woods wasn’t saying.

”They all feel good,” he said. ”They’re not easy. People don’t realize how hard it is to win golf tournaments. I’ve gone on streaks where I’ve won golf tournaments in a row, but still … I don’t think I’ve taken it for granted. And I know because of how hard it is.”

”I don’t think we’re going to see another 2011, if that makes sense,” Furyk said, alluding to Woods failing to reach the FedEx Cup playoffs this year. ”If he steadily progresses, keeps getting confidence and moving forward, he’s going to return and be one of the best players in the game again.”
