Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller

Jason Nicholas Miller, better known as Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller, is an American mixed martial arts middleweight fighter. He is known for his over-the-top entrances, sometimes overly confident attitude and unique fighting style. He has fought for organizations like UFC, Strikeforce, WFA, WEC, and DREAM. He also is the host of the MTV reality show Bully Beatdown, where he pairs people who bully others with real MMA fighters with the reward of cash if lasting through certain time limits. It’s a nifty show!

Despite his raising popularity, it would seem Miller’s UFC career has come to a close.  Just recently, the president of the UFC, Dana White, confirmed that Mayhem is done with the organization. It would seem the fighter has had a little bit of an ego cut lately.

After a disappointing defeat against Michael Bisping, White told media at a press conference that:

“Some of the punches that were thrown by Mayhem Miller in this fight, you could go to a girls’ Tae Bo class and see better form, better stand-up. It was embarrassing.”

These words seemed to have taken Miller by heart. The fighter flew over the Atlantic to Holland to train at his kickboxing skills in order to learn from his errors. He worked with some of the best kickboxers to gain as much skill and knowledge as possible.

In an interview before his next fight with C.B. Dollaway, Mayhem made it clear that he wasn’t intimidated by Dollaway at the least, and didn’t see him as a wrestler at all. He seemed to see Dollaway as a very small threat, if at all.

The fight rolled around and Miller slammed Dollaway with a powerful right hit, sending him staggering in the second round. However, after making no progress and shuffling around the octagon, Miller allowed Dollaway to recover. Dollaway wrestled Miller down and pulled off a unanimous decision victory at the final round, proving Mayhem’s theory wrong.

White did seem surprised with Miller’s loss. However according to the UFC President, “When you have all these other organizations and people starting saying this guy is the best and starts getting ranked and he hasn’t fought the best guys in the world yet…” He then followed that statement up with a statement on how he disregards the rankings of other organizations.

Pusha T New Album

American rapper Pusha T (aka Terrence Thornton) has been preparing to release his debut solo album which has yet to be named as far as media provides. The album should be released sometime later this year. Pusha T will also be going on tour with the rapper from Atlanta who goes by the name Future.

Pusha T has quite the impressive resume considering his newly started career. He is the co-founder and co-chief executive officer of Re-Up Records along with his brother. In addition, Pusha T signed to Kanye West’s GOOD Music label in September of 2010.

The American pop singer, songwriter, and actress has experienced a very successful career beginning in 1979. She is well known for her hits like “Like a Virgin”, “Vogue”, “Frozen”, and “Hung Up”, which were all no. 1 hits at some point.  Not to mention, those were only a few of her no. 1 hits!

She has been included in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Billboard Hot 100 All-Time Artist, and she was crowned as the “Greatest Woman in Music” by VH1.  She has release a whopping 12 studio albums throughout her career.

Israeli pop fans are getting pumped for the upcoming performances that will be put on by the American superstar.  She landed in the holy land of Jerusalem to kick off her world tour, which begins next week. Fans were growing anxious as the diva arrived at the Tel Aviv Dan hotel. Guards had to shield her from various media.

Madonna fanatics are going as far as dressing up as the superstar at themed parties in her honor in the Tel Aviv clubs and bars.  It seems that she is quite popular there!

Though she isn’t Jewish, she has gained the Hebrew name of Esther. She also studies Jewish mysticism and is well known in Israeli media as “Queen Esther”.

Madonna will begin her tour on June 14^th at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milan, Milan and will end her tour on December 4^th at Estadio do Morumbi (Formerly Estadio Cicero Pompeu de Toledo) in Sao Paulo, Sao Paulo.

Elton John Cancels Show

3 Las Vegas Shows are canceled after Elton John grows ill

It would seem that those planning on seeing the awesome piano wonder, Elton John, in Las Vegas on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday will be making new plans for those dates. It turns out that Elton John was hospitalized with a respiratory infection requiring him to cancel his “The Million Dollar Piano” performances.

According to the Associated Press, show officials state that he became ill last weekend and was sent to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Lost Angeles on Wednesday. However he was released later on with antibiotics. Fortunately, this legend will be fine with some good old R&R.

There is also good news for those who purchased tickets!  Ticket holders are able to take refunds or exchange at the site in which they purchased the concert tickets.

For those who do not know, Diana DeGarmo is an American singer and Broadway actress who rose to fame in 2004. She was the runner-up in the 3^rd season of American Idol and has been hard at work ever sense.

After American Idol, she pursued a career in musical theatre where she did several big performances like American Musical Theatre of San Jose’s production of West Side Story which was her debut performance. She also performed in Hairspray as Penny Pingleton, a nerdy character. She performed at venues like Carnegie Hall, Ethel Barrymore Theatre, and the Music Box Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard

Phillip Phillips takes gold in American Idol, season 11!

Phillip Phillips always seemed like a sure thing ever since the very first song he “folked” up in front of the American Idol judges, on the first episode he was introduced. He did his own creative version of “Thriller” by Michael Jackson, and did it well.

His personality said it all; silly, rebellious, risky, southern derived and most importantly, good looking and charming! This American Idol contestant seemed to have it all! He even had the background of an average individual (working at a pawn shop) that inspires us all.

Phillips was eager and friendly, developing friendships with other contestants like Colten Dixon and Heejun Han. You could even see the sadness in his face when Dixon was eliminated from the competition.  It was clear that he was a kind hearted individual!

Yeah, he was another white guy with a guitar, which isn’t unfamiliar in American Idol’s past. But his gritty style and unique showmanship separated him from the generic characteristics of the last five winners. Not to mention, he showed dedication and strength while dealing with kidney problems throughout the season.

Jessica Sanchez was “living on borrowed time” as some would say. She was supposed to be eliminated in a previous episode, but was saved by the judges. Unfortunately the tides couldn’t change and a female vocalist couldn’t reign supreme over the American Idol kingdom, but there is also hope for future seasons.

According to an MTV News interview, the young diva-in-training seemed to be optimistic and understanding in her defeat. When asked how she felt, she expressed how relieved she was for it all to be done with and concluded that “…Phillip really deserved to win, and I’m happy for him”.

She also stated “When they announced that it was Phillip, I was so happy, and I knew it already. So, that’s why I gave him a big hug. I was smiling the whole time.” It seemed she was well aware of Phillip’s growing popularity and likelihood to win.

When asked how she felt about herself as an artist she said “I wanna be more like the Rihanna kind.” She continued to explain “More like the urban, R&B kind of stuff but a little bit of pop…”

As for Phillips, it would seem he is excited for his first professional album which is sure to have elements of folk similar to Arcade Fire and Mumford and Sons. Nonetheless, his success will depend on record sales, and no longer will be dependent on America’s votes! Good luck Philips and Sanchez!

American Idol Season Finale

Who should emerge victorious on American Idol’s season finale?

Tonight is the night we have all been waiting for! Have the popcorn ready and make sure the batteries in your control are charged because the season finale of American Idol will be broadcasted at 8/7c tonight on FOX.

Jessica Sanchez and Philip Philips will be competing for the title of American Idol Live. So who will be the 11^th victor of this hit television show? Both contestants competed on Americas Got Talent in previous years, but were both rejected. Sanchez competed at the age of 11-years-old and made it to the stage to perform in front of NBC hit’s judges, however Philips did not.

Why should Jessica Sanchez win anyway?

When looking back, it would seem that males have been dominating the competition for the last five years. Seeing that there have been five male American Idols in a row up to now, it seem that a female would be a refreshing change in pace. Not that gender really should be a deciding factor. Though, change can be nice now-and-then.

Philips seems to have the looks, but why another attractive fellow with a guitar? The concept doesn’t seem too original now-a-days. Not to mention (once again with gender) the fact that most of the male victors didn’t prove successful professionally, with exception to Scotty McCreery, who has been moving up the country music ranks.

Sanchez is young (16 years old), modern, sure to become a true diva, and is probably American Idol’s best bet for the recreation of the classic superstars that Idol has made (I.E. Kelly Clarkston).  She is an honest contestant and has done great songs, like her cover of “I Have Nothing” by Whitney Houston.

Why Philip Phillips Should win.

Phillips is original, which is obviously a huge asset is the competition, not to mention in making it in today music industry. He performed creative versions of songs like “Stand by Me” and “Movin’ Out” by Billy Joel”. He voice is almost a spitting image of Dave Matthews, as some would say.

Philip Phillips seems to have a clear vision for his music career, which could prove him to be the most-likely of the two to make something out the good old American Idol “boost”. His song titled “Home” is catchy, enjoyable, and definitely radio worthy.

To say the least, the ladies love him. He is more confident that Jessica, and has a greater level of artistry. It’s safe to say Philips has evolved more throughout this competition, showing a promising career for the young singer/guitarist.

Ray J Hospitalized

Ray J Hospitalized after Billboard Awards

Trouble came for R&B singer/songwriter Ray J after the Billboard Music Awards last Sunday. After reportedly suffering from dehydrated and exhaustion, the singer was transported to a hospital in Las Vegas on the following Monday.

Ray J’s ill condition was most-likely brought on by all the activity he had been taking part in over the previous days. He had just returned from China after performing a concert and attending a meeting regarding a new business venture.  This trip took about 32 hours round trip proving to be a tiring one.

After returning to California, Ray J drove four hours to Las Vegas in order to host a launch party for a product he endorsed called Prince Reigns Hair Serum. He then attended The Billboard Music Awards where he encounters issues with Whitney Houston’s family.

After sitting next to Houston’s daughter, Whitney’s sister-in-law Patricia Houston called security to forcefully remove him.  It was said Ray J was one of the last people to be around Whitney Houston during the last hours of her life and had suffered greatly from her death.

It would seem this singer has undergone a rough few days. So far he is still under the care of the hospital. No news ofwhen he will be released has been made.

Tom Gabel, Against Me! Singer Decides To Change Gender

Tom Gabel, the lead singer and guitarist of the punk rock band Against Me has just recently revealed that he will be taking the leap and changing his gender from man to woman.

Against me is based out of Naples, Florida and is currently signed under Sire Records. Other bands signed under the label include My Chemical Romance, The Ready Set, Taking Back Sunday, Avenged Sevenfold, and Mastodon.  Against me is most popular for their song “I Was A Teenage Anarchist”. They are currently their sixth studio album.

On the gender transitional note, 31-year-old Gabel has a condition called gender dysphoria, which causes a person to identify more with his/her opposing gender. This is a condition shared with other celebrities like Chaz Bono, most identified on the television series Dancing with the Stars.

Justin Bieber Tour Dates For 2012

Tickets for the much anticipated Justin Bieber Believe Tour, go on sale in May according to Beiber and his manager who both verified the dates via Twitter.

“For everyone asking. Looks like the Justin Bieber Tour Dates for 2012 #BelieveTour  will go on sale in May. We are studying MJ for this one. Thanks,” Bieber’s manager, Scooter Braun, tweeted on 4/4/12.

Biebs also confirmed that Believe tour tickets would go onsale in May 1 day following his manager response.
